Governance & Responsibilities
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the overarching body which is responsible for St Andrew’s Church and for its ministry to the people of the village and those who come to worship from further afield. Within the Church of England the PCC has duties and responsibilities which are delegated to the PCC. On an annual basis the PCC presents a formal account of its finances to the Diocese of Salisbury and contributes a sum of money to help fund the full-time clergy who work in the Parish. In 2012 the PCC agreed a new Mission and Vision for St Andrew’s Church.

The Friends of St Andrew’s Church was set up about fifteen years ago to raise funds to help ensure that the church building remains a centre of village life. It is a membership organisation in which members pay an annual subscription; the amounts contributed vary. The Friends do not raise funds to cover the annual running costs of the church; these are met by the worshipping community at St Andrew’s. The Friends Committee is a sub-committee of the PCC with an agreed constitution which allows the Committee the right to determine how the money the Friends raises shall be spent. In practice, since the launch of the Development Appeal, all the funds raised by the Friends go towards the Development Appeal. The Friends Committee runs an annual programme of events and activities which are both for fundraising and for the enjoyment and fellowship of the village community.
The Friends Committee is listed on the Contacts page.
